S19 series is certainly the most popular and highest selling Bitcoin miner. Due to its popularity it is available in multiple variants with different hashrate. In continuation ot this #Antminer S19 XP the latest edition to this series was announced by Bitmain during World Digital Mining Summit 2021 (WDSM21) held in Dubai.

Bitmain will become the world's first miner manufacturer using 5-nm process technology. The chips used in the Antminer S19 XP will be manufactured by the world's leading manufacturer TSMC. As a result, the miner will surpass other miners with absolute advantages of :

  • Hashrate: 140 TH/s
  • Power: 3010 Watts
  • Efficiency: 21.5 joules per TH
  • Pricing: $75 per terahash in Q3 2022; $70 per terahash

S19 XP futures orders are available for Q3 & Q4 2022 in limited quantities.

The Bitmain's current flagship Antminer S19 Pro produces 110 TH/s and consumes 3,250 W, which means its energy efficiency is 29.5 J/TH and has led the industry. Even though these features are still beyond the reach of competitors, with the release of 5nm models, Bitmain will become the absolute leader.
In terms of first look the latest S19 XP looks exactly like the previous generation i.e. S19 Pro ,S19J pro, with minor color variation. Lets breakdown and compare how it ranks in comparison to its predecessors.

Performance comparison of S19XP with previous S19 models.
Here is a video showing the first look of S19 XP and initial review as seen on #WDSM2021

Live mining stats of S19 XP, The calculated efficiency is approximately 21.5 and the real time hashrate was limited to 127Th/s than the claimed 140TH/s.

One thing that is worth paying attention to is that although the S19 XP hashrate is claimed to be 140TH/s the max hashrate achieved by the display miner was limited to 127TH/s a difference of 13TH/s. The minor hashrate difference is not that wide to raise any question, and the reason for a slightly low hashrate can be credited to various factors. However it hints that further research and improvement is expected in the latest model before gets shipped next year.

Shipping and delivery of the new machines won't start until July 2022. however with the current shortage of chips it is unlikely that retails customers will get to see this miner before the end of 2022.
